Austria, famous for producing such global positives as Sigmund Freud, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to blemish its impressive record (which, to be fair, was tarnished in 1889 when Hitler was born) by launching McNoodles.

Yes sir, from September 20th for a two or three month trial, Mcdonalds will add Asian noodle boxes to the McMenu.

"They could theoretically become a fixed item one day," McDonald's Austria spokeswoman Ursula Riegler said.

The move follows another Asian trend recently adopted by Maccy D in Austria: bubble tea, originally a milky black tea with tapioca balls drunk through a wide straw, now also available in other flavours.

Apparently noodles have emerged as a strong competitor to Austria's beloved sausage stands and Ronald is hoping the trend will bring in some extra cash for the fast food giant.

Would you try them? Or stick to the tried and tested? Let us know below.
