Beach house, anyone?

Seaside living, Australia-style

Beach house, anyone?
19 October 2010

If you're lucky enough to bag the big bucks in this weekend's, admittedly rather derisory EuroMillions, you might want to think about snapping up this beach pad

The stunning beachside home, situated in Australia's picturesque Point Lonsdale, is nestled among the trees and just a stones throw from the coast - making it the perfect holiday home for sun worshippers, barbeque enthusiasts and surf junkies alike.

The revolutionary design, engineered by design buff Peter Woolard at Studio101 Architects, consists of three pavilions linked by a fancy-sounding continuous circulation spine. The eastern pavilion houses the sleeping and bathing zones while the kitchen, dining and living zones are situated in the second and third north-facing pavilions - making this stunning pad perfect for spending lazy days in the sun.

And the Point Lonsdale digs have more than good looks to offer. We're told that cross flow ventilation allows the house to breath and makes the most of light and fresh air, while sustainable living solutions including a rain water harvesting tank and sustainably managed White Cypress timber mean that the house is eco-friendly to boot.
