The archetypal bad guy is a brooding, bitter monster, hell-bent on ruining it for everyone else.
But this brilliant illustration series, by Melbourne-based graphic designer Florey, takes the badness out of the bad guy by painting him as a cheerful little fellow instead. Looking very much like the seven dwarfs happily going off to work, the three-part 'Happy Little Bad Guys' series make various TV, movie and comic book baddies - including Magneto, Chucky, Beetlejuice and The Joker (who, to be fair, was fairly happy already) - look like adorable little scamps.
And as if that wasn't enough, he's recently created the first in the next series - 'Happy Big Bad Guys' - in the form of Ghostbusters' Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. We can't wait for more of those to arrive.
You can buy prints of all of them - either as a nine-character poster, or with a few available separately - from Florey's Big Cartel page here, with more of Florey's work available to view here.
