Save for the tangible and budgetary differences, supercars are a lot like buses: you wait ages for one and then umpteen come along at once.

You can level the blame for this squarely at the glamorous feet of the Geneva Motor Show, that annually coveted event which sees most major manufacturers showing off their dream machines. And, now, heralding this year's batch of beauties, are McLaren, who've just released details of their own supercar due to debut at the show on 4 March.

Predictably if thrillingly, the 650S (a nod to the performance of its twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, roughly around 641 horsepower), doesn’t come up short on those hallmark McLaren curves, yet also boasts a more aerodynamic build than what’s gone before it, giving the chasis even more down force to improve steering control.

And if that weren’t enough, the car deploys an airbrake at the rear whenever the car senses more down force is needed, all ingredients to help it hurtle from 0-62mph in 3 seconds before flat-lining at a maximum speed of 207mph.

The cost for all this? £195,000 - which, depending on the volume of your pockets, could see you overtaking that bus from Mid-March onwards.
