Marbles look really cool these days

Granted, it’s been a while since we last climbed a really tall tree or had to scale a daunting wall just to get over the other side, but if we had to, we reckon we could still make it up a great big building. No messing.

It’s no surprise, therefore, to learn that we see photographer (and acrobat, he’s keen to be seen as an acrobat) Wouter van Buuren as something of a kindred spirit. The Dutch daredevil has climbed a number of cranes, buildings and towers to create his astounding Scapes series of images.

The eye-catching panoramic vistas are achieved by snapping 360 degree shots and then seamlessly stitching them together to create a disorientating but compelling globe-like piece of art.

Anyone who happens to be in Amsterdam before 4 February should head down to the Witzenhausen Gallery to view van Buuren’s impressive images in their full glory.
