Tilt-Shift Photos

Incredibly all real

Tilt-Shift Photos
16 February 2011

Despite all looking like they're snapshots of some elaborately constructed toy world, these images are actually taken from the very world we live in. Fact.

While tilt-shift photography has been around since the 60s, it's only recently become an online phenomenon. For those of you, and us, who don't know what the hell tilt-shift means, it refers to a camera lens modification that gives everyday scenes a miniature feeling.

These shots were taken by Ed McGowan, director of design for a Californian company, who picked up the office camera (a DSLR in case you're interested) and got hooked pretty quickly.

This selection of images follows him around the world from San Franciso to London to Leith.

You can find more of his work here.
