We love Jaws and we love alternative art, so this is a joyous occasion for us.
A new Jaws-themed art show, Smile You Son Of A Bitch, opens tomorrow (November 1st) at the Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles, running for just three days - until Sunday. We've picked 14 of our favourite images, with a range of styles represented but all linked by two key things: sharks; and their awesomeness.
If you're lucky enough to live in LA, then you'll be able to see over a hundred different artworks based on the 1975 smash at the exhibition, together with original film memorabilia and the chance to chat with leading shark experts who will be present. You'll also be helping to save the ultimate hunters of the seas as all proceeds go to PangeaSeed, a group raising awareness for the preservation and conservation of sharks.
Probably not the one in the film though.
Smile, You Son of a Bitch! An Art Tribute opens from 6-10 p.m. Nov 1 at the Hero Complex Gallery, 2020 South Robertson Blvd. Studio D. Los Angeles, California. $10 cover
