While she might not be quite as popular as she was in in the 90s, The Boy is Mine singer Brandy still manages a healthy career from radio-friendly R&B.

Which is what makes this all the more embarrassing. Last weekend, the Mandela Sports & Culture Day took place in Johannesburg, South Africa and at the end of the football and rugby matches, a selection of musical acts came on to perform.

But, due to what appears like some poor publicity efforts, people started to leave fairly quickly. So while a variety of lesser known acts sang to the 90,000-capacity FNB Stadium, the crowd quickly trickled out. By the time Brandy arrived, there was reportedly no more than 40 people left.

This came from an understandably shocked South African musician, while a concertgoer tweeted the following:

Even the TV channel showing the coverage to the masses ended their coverage before she made her way to the stage.

No official word from Brandy or her people on exactly what went wrong.
