Darren Aronofsky To Helm Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam Trilogy For HBO
Darren Aronofsky looks to have acquired an appetite for the disastrous - and no, that's not a statement on Noah.
Word comes from Deadline that the director of the biblical epic is looking to helm a miniseries adaptation of Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam trilogy for HBO.
Set in a dystopian mid-21st century world that has been raved by obscure event, Atwood's trilogy (Oryx and Crake, The Year of the Flood and MaddAddam) is a heady blend of speculative fiction and adventure. Centring on an extensive cast of characters from the corporations who caused the disaster and those caught up in surviving, Atwood's work appears ripe for a twisting, turning big budget miniseries.
The author herself is attached to serve as consulting producer, while Aronofsky himself could direct.
Are you a fan of the trilogy? Are you worried that HBO and Aronofsky could ruin the work, or are you excited by the notion of seeing a small screen adaptation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
