The $666 burger

The $666 burger

The $666 burger
30 May 2012

So just this week we shared the news that Guinness had awarded the title of world's most expensive burger to Le Burger Extravagant in New York and at the pricely sum of $295, it seemed like a fair win.

But mere days later, there's a new contender in the ring and this burger has the devil on its side.

The Douche Burger will set you back a whopping $666 (a slightly less evil £431.20 when converted) and has a pentagram branded on the bun. It contains a Kobe patty, stuffed with foie gras and wrapped in gold leaf with caviar, lobster and truffles piled on top. Oh yeah and it also contains Gruyere melted with Champagne steam and a BBQ sauce made using Kopi Luwak coffee, one of the world's most expensive coffees.

It's also wrapped in three $100 bills, which explains its name. According to the Gothamist, the owner claims that "when you are done with it you'll have three greasy hundred dollar bills and have to decide what to do with them. That's why it is called the Douche Burger."

It's available from the 666 Burger Food Truck in New York if you're brave/rich/stupid enough to try it and it officially launches at the end of June. 666 Burger even state that "[The Douche Burger] may not taste good, but will make you feel rich as f*ck.”
