Tom Hiddleston Performs As Hank Williams At US Music Festival
Just when you thought Tom Hiddleston couldn't possibly top his Muppets impressions (and who could?), the enviously talented actor goes and tops it, covering a song by Hank Williams on guitar at a US music festival.
Slated to play Williams in forthcoming biopic I Saw The Light, this weekend the actor respond in the best way possible to die-hard fans of the musician who have been angered by Hiddleston's casting, by covering the singer/songwriter at the Wheatland Music Festival, Michigan.
Taking the stage, the 33-year-old treated no doubt bemused spectators to a faithful rendition of Williams’ uptempo Move It On Over, as shown in the video captured below, possibly done to help Hiddleston get in character of the music legend before shooting reportedly starts next month.
And while we're not obsessives of Williams' records, from what we can tell by the muffled audio we're impressed. You have to hand it to the actor for gall alone.
Given that Williams tragically died at 29 after swilling too many pills and booze yet remains a titan of music legend should be enough to tell you that this biopic could be one of Hiddleston’s most interesting project yet.
Rock God, Norse God, Acting God. Just all in a day’s work for Hid.
