If you're still unsure what to expect from Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy, don't envision this being a problem for much longer.
The first trailer has just been officially released, and, as we pretty much mustered when we dropped by the set last September, this blockbuster space opera might well be the finest of the Marvel universe so far.
If nothing else, it's certainly the most offbeat: half-human space adventurer Quill (a buffed-up Chris Pratt), beamed up from eighties earth as a young boy armed with only a cheesy rock mixtape (which soundtracks the film no less), reluctantly joins an unlikely group of warriors to stage a daring prison escape.
Quill’s cohorts include Drax The Destroyer (former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista) a green heroine (Zoe Saldana), tree-like humanoid (voiced by Vin Diesel) and a bad-ass racoon assassin (voiced by Bradley Cooper, and yes, he’s bad-ass, just take our word for it), who are soon hunted by super villain Ronan for possession of an all-powerful orb.
Directed by normally cult filmmaker James Gunn, it looks funny - really funny, with many of the best lines from the sardonically likeable protagonist Quill. We’ve got a long wait until its release in August, but as you can see from the trailer below, it might just be worth it.
