If Jack O'Connell isn't already on your radar, expect to see something matching the actor's description jamming it very soon.
Having already impressed with full-blooded turns in Eden Lake, Harry Brown, and, more recently, battleship heavy 300: Rise Of An Empire, O'Connell is about to make more waves in Hollywood with Unbroken, Anglina Jolie's blockbuster biopic about Olympian-turned-WW2 hero Louis Zamperini, whom he plays.
For now, however, evidence of O'Connell's explosive talent can be found in indie drama Starred Up, shining as a tearaway so violent that he's prematurely moved from a young offender's institute into the belly of a dog-eat-dog adult prison.
Such is the unflinching brutality of the film's setting, and such is the actor's candid nature, that when we sat down with O'Connell to chat, we can't say we were overly surprised to hear how he picked up some nasty injuries during filming.
Other topics breached include recruiting Angelina Jolie as an unlikely Derby County fan, and rumours linking him to J.J. Abrams' forthcoming Star Wars project. See the interview in full, below.
Starred Up is out in cinemas nationwide from 21 March
