Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield made out at the Golden Globes
We always said Spiderman and Deadpool had chemistry
Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds may not have been kidding about the Merc with a Mouth becoming the Merc with a Man, after the actor was pictured giving the most surprising of smooches to former Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield at the Golden Globes yesterday evening.
After it was announced Reynolds had lost out on the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy to Ryan Gosling, winning for La La Land, which frankly dominated the awards, Garfield reached out to console his friend before it all got hot and heavy. And fortunately for humankind, cameras captured the pair’s tender embrace.
Naturally, the inevitable hashtag #SpideyPool was born and this unlikely union of Marvel superheroes capped off a memorable evening where A-listers even lined up to pan forthcoming President Donald Trump. Meryl Streep had a few words to say on his potential rule, but if any act of the night showed young viewers that tolerance and love, not hate, is the future, it’s this.
As for Reynolds losing out, we predict he won’t have long to wait to fill his awards cabinet: the Best Kiss at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards has his (and Garfield’s) name on it.
