One of the funniest TV shows of recent years has been renewed for a final season
Beats and Grindah, here to get you hyper
You are SLEEPING if you haven’t caught any of People Just Do Nothing, the top-drawer BBC mockumentary following a bunch of hapless blokes who run a pirate garage radio station. It’s hilarious, absolutely believable, and if you like garage music, well then, there’s nothing better on TV.
So far we’ve had four series of the show, following DJ Beats, MC Grindah, Steves, Chabuddy G, Miche and Decoy as they navigate the ups and downs of running a ‘popular’ business, as well as dealing with weddings, raves, the police and whatever it is Steves has taken on that particular day.
And now we’re getting a fifth and final series, that’ll wrap up all the loose ends.
A press release says:
“In series five, rough times are afoot for Kurupt FM, the West-London Pirate radio station crew the show focuses on. DJ Steves has been nicked, and all the station equipment has been seized by the Police.
“Can the crew find a new home to transmit from? Will The Lost Tape curators finally go global? The notorious Chabuddy G has an insatiable new girl and a full time job – but will he find time to be the mastermind manager the station needs?
“The station isn’t the only thing under threat. After the excitement of the Wedding, Garage’s top power-couple Miche and Grindah were gutted by the news that the council have decided to knock down the Brentford blocks to make way for luxury flats. Where will this leave the family?”
We have zero idea, but you best believe we’re keen to find out. Here’s the official announcement from Beats and Grindah themselves:
And if that’s not enough PJDN for you (so demanding, sheesh) then you can catch them live this summer at the following festivals ahead of their UK tour in November:
