The internet really is good at ridiculous things. In the past week alone we've had the launch of Rock Simulator and a startup charging you $14.99 to buy $10.
But we're pretty sure that this one takes the biscuit - or, more accurately, the potato salad.
Kickstarter user Zach Danger Brown decided to set up a kickstarter to make a potato salad, starting at just $10. Currently, with 29 days still to go, he has already managed to raise a ridiculous $320.
Pledges range from $1, which will enable you to get a 'thank you' posted to Zach's website - he will also say your name out loud while making the potato salad - to the $20 option which gives the following: "Receive a potato-salad themed haiku written by me, your name carved into a potato that will be used in the potato salad, a signed jar of mayonnaise, the potato salad recipe, hang out in the kitchen with me while I make the potato salad, choose a potato-salad-appropriate ingredient to add to the potato salad, receive a bite of the potato salad, a photo of me making the potato salad, a 'thank you' posted to our website and I will say your name out loud while making the potato salad."
This noble quest is not without risk; Zach admits that, "It might not be that good. It's my first potato salad."
Is it genius? Is it ridiculous? All we know is that Zach has got at least $320 to make a potato salad. It's surely going be the greatest potato salad ever.
