5 reasons the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G camera is out of this world
SPONSORED: A revolutionary mobile camera experience
OnePlus has always been a brand that likes to push the boundaries of what’s possible in a camera phone. But its latest handset, the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G has a number of new features that truly revolutionise the mobile camera experience.
Not only has the brand strengthened its ties with premium camera manufacturer Hasselblad, co-developing an incredible camera experience, but it has literally sent the brand stratospheric with its fantastic Capture the Horizon campaign.
Here’s everything you need to know about OnePlus’ latest camera king and the reasons why the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G is out of this world ...
1. OnePlus sent its the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G to the stratosphere
OnePlus sent a OnePlus 10 Pro 38,000 meters up into the stratosphere to capture the horizon. The handset had to endure windspeeds of 200km/hr and temperatures down to minus 60 degrees to take the shot. With the help of a weather balloon, a specially designed remote control app and armed with the right meteorological calculations, the perfect shot was achieved.
The good news is that back down on earth, the results you can get with the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G are just as spectacular.
2. The OnePlus community were essential for the stratospheric stunt
To make sure that the ‘Capture the Horizon’ campaign for the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G was perfect, OnePlus enlisted the help of its loyal community of fans. They were not only involved in naming the module that helped send the handset into the stratosphere – it’s called ‘The Stratosphone’ - but also helped with the execution on-ground and even recovered the devices. OnePlus’ community came together, exhibiting their Never Settle attitude to overcome challenges.
3. There is a very good reason the Horizon shot looks so good
The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G provides one of the best mobile camera experiences. It’s been co-developed with Hasselblad and one of the ways you can see this innovation is in its colour processing.
OnePlus worked with Hasselblad to fine-tune the colour processing in a whopping 500 usage scenarios. This means that even in extreme weather conditions - and that’s definitely what you get when you head to the stratosphere - the handset improves colour performance and stability. This is all part of the OnePlus Billion Colour Solution that allows users to capture every shot with the highest picture quality.
4. The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G has camera tech never seen in a OnePlus handset before
The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G is, in fact, the first OnePlus handset to offer full 10-bit colour, which means the pictures taken are incredibly detailed and benefit from a more natural and delicate display of colour in every shot you take.
In context: having 10-bit colour means smoother colour transition and no colour banding. It also means the ability to process 64 times more colour than smartphones that shoot in 8-bit colour.
5 And the good news is, you can now use the camera tech yourself
The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G is now available to buy from OnePlus and Amazon, as well as at John Lewis and Three.
