5 top London Fashion Week 2025 fits (and their affordable high-street alternatives)

London Fashion Week has wrapped for another season, and it’s left us looking through our wardrobes in disgust. The show is a great way to seek inspiration for interesting fresh looks, and to lust over expensive clothes you'll likely never be able to afford — and, in some cases, never see on a rack anyway, with out-there designs intended to kickstart trends rather than clothe the masses.

There were over 250 brands on display this year, showing off a variety of weird and wonderful collections that would make your wallet cry at the prospect of buying even a single item.

Looking back on the past week, a few themes stood out, and there were consistent trends throughout, with the most standout looks featuring plenty of layering, large overcoats and baggy trousers. Skinny and slim fit are dead (for now), whilst Madness is very much back in. Some of the biggest standouts from the week were less what was seen on the runway and, instead, the street fits seen by those in attendance, so we've drawn some inspiration from there, too.

With that in mind, we've looked through the best of the best from the event and found more cost-effective alternatives that the modern man can enjoy, and no doubt elevate anyone's wardrobe. Keep reading below to see our five favourites from this year's event and the available, affordable alternatives -- still capturing the essence of the original piece, but leaving you with enough money to buy a pair of pants to go underneath it all, too.

1. Oversized trench coat

Throughout the week, plenty of giant coats were seen knocking about, but this trench coat worn by Gene Gallagher (Liam Gallagher's son) at the Burberry show stood out – it looks like he’s wearing one of Burberry’s trench coats that will set you back around £1900. We've found a similar one on ASOS that comes in either Black or Stone, depending on your fancy. The coat is such a statement that it doesn't matter what else you pair with it, and for only £65, it's an absolute steal.

2. Pearl necklace

On the Toga runway, in the zoomed-in pic above, you can see how well a pearl necklace fits when dressing up darker colours. The dark base layer helps the necklace pop, and jewellery is always a perfect way to elevate any man's look, showing extra care and attention when putting an outfit together.

Finding low-cost pearls isn't easy, and in the picture above, the pearls are massive, so we've gone for a more subtle alternative from jeweller CRAFTD. Despite the pearls not being quite as large, this necklace will have a similar impact on any outfit and will undoubtedly add a bit of class to anything you wear. CRAFTD has many options if the one we've shown above isn't quite to your taste.

3. Brown sweater vest

A sweater vest is dead versatile, and, as seen on Raven Smith above at the ERDEM show, it looks great worn with nothing else. It's also a fantastic piece to layer but well positioned to help your wardrobe transition into the spring and prepare for warmer weather.

Our alternative from Zara, although similar in colour, is a slightly different cut from the one seen on Smith, but it would look great with a t-shirt underneath or on its own. Zara also has a baby blue alternative on the site for those who are feeling a bit braver.

4. Floral jacket

Maybe my favourite item I saw throughout the week was the floral jacket worn by Daniel Miller, who was seen in the front row during the Kent & Curwen show. This jacket / shacket from Next is slightly shorter in the body than the one seen on Miller but is an equally flamboyant alternative to be worn over a more simple outfit. I've got this jacket bookmarked, primed and ready as a cheeky payday treat, and the best bit is it's only £48.

5. Oversized trousers

The Chet Lo show hit home the recent transition men's fashion has made towards baggier trousers. Slim fit and skinny is a thing of the past, as shown frequently at the show and seen above. As an alternative, we've found this pair of suit trousers on Jaded London, which is a must-buy alternative if you're on the market for some high-quality, baggy trousers that still fit well where they need to.

You can grab these trousers in nine different colours, some even featuring a print. If you grab a pair, you'll be looking at spending between £60 and £75, depending on which colour you go for.
