Ed Gamble, Kurupt FM and Years and Years join CALM charity for the ultimate ‘Friday Night Lock-In’

The star-studded line-up aims to raise money for CALM's hotline

Between houseparty calls and Netflix browsing, isolation has left us sifting through the best content the internet has to offer at a rapidly increasing rate. Now, though, CALM charity is here to help, as it launches the ultimate ‘Friday Night Lock-In’ with the help of a few celebrity pals.

Providing an impressive 7 hours of free entertainment from the world’s funniest, most musically adept and downright joyful personalities, the event has been created to raise money for CALM’s helpline - which has seen a 37% increase in calls since lockdown began.

Taking place between 5pm and midnight (the opening hours of CALM’s hotline) on Friday 3 April, the lock-in is set to be broadcast on Instagram Live from each of the celebs instagram accounts with Vick Hope dropping in to present the night.

Our favourite comedian, foodie and Off Menu podcast host Ed Gamble is set to join forces with comedian Phil Wang to run the ultimate dinner time cook-along, followed by a host of comedians including funny man Mark Watson.

Just make sure the laughter doesn’t result in you burning the kid’s dinner.

Want to hear the best part? We haven’t even got started on the live performances yet. Years and Years’ Olly Alexander is set to kick off the musical entertainment, alongside a host of acts including Declan Mckenna, Oh Wonder, Arlo Parks, JNR Williams, Joy Crookes, Nothing But Thieves and Zac Abel.

Give us a second to catch our breath after reeling off that list.

Reality stars Chris and Kem will also be dropping by to supply your RDA of laughs, with an after party hosted by none other than Kurupt FM and Frank Turner soothing you into the land of nod.

With an ever-expanding line-up, be sure to watch this space for the latest additions.

The aim of the lock-in is to raise money (and spirits) in order to support CALM charity’s services - which lead the movement against suicide and living miserably.
