​McCartney and The Macallan join forces for limited-edition whisky collaboration

When spirit and lifestyle brands join forces for a limited-edition collaboration, the outcome is bound to look sharp.

So, naturally, when ShortList caught wind of a McCartney-Maccallan crossover, our interest was piqued.

Joining forces for the first time, sisters Stella and Mary McCartney have unveiled an exclusive collection in partnership with whiskey maestros The Macallan.

Marking the third edition of The Macallan Harmony Collection — comprised of Amber Meadow (42.2% ABV) and Green Meadow (40.2% ABV) whiskies — the two new releases coincide with an all-new 11 piece lifestyle collection named Together, that will see you sipping in style.

The two new limited-edition whiskies, hand crafted by The Macallan Whiskey Mastery Team, use a combination of sherry-seasoned oak and bourbon casks – inspired by natural Scottish grasslands.

Steven Bremner, The Macallan Whisky Maker, said: "There is so much to discover with The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow. It is a single malt redolent of warm meadows and mature barley fields, with a rich, citrus scented finish."

With hints of fresh citrus fruits and honeysuckle on the nose, whiskey lovers will also be able to detect vanilla, coconut and ripe barley. On tasting, distinctive notes of oak, lemon, melon shine through. Not to mention the toasty flavors of classic scone and almond with green tea.

Drawing inspiration from the McCartney sisters’ love of the Scottish countryside and the tranquility of nature, this sharp looking whiskey drop features photography of The Macallan Estate captured by Mary McCartney.

The whiskies’ presentation boxes and bottle labels have also undergone a McCartney revamp, created using discarded meadow cuttings which embrace the reuse of natural materials.

Bristling – or should we say thistleing, with creativity, these two distinctive expressions are paired with 11 lifestyle pieces which make up the Together collection.

Think vibrant colours and bespoke pieces, with hand-blown glassware, ceramic flasks encased in apple leather (yes, that really is a thing) and brass ice stamps for the finishing touch – all in vibrant shades.

Inspired by nature the green hues represent The Macallan Estate, the amber tones offer a nod to the natural color of the whisky, and the colour red, which is synonymous with The Macallan, honors the brand's deep respect for tradition and craftsmanship.

Mary McCartney said: "This range wouldn't be what it is if we weren't able to spend that time with The Macallan. I felt really proud to bring my little sister with me to The Macallan Estate on Speyside, as I knew Stella would fall in love with this just as much as I did."

Stella McCartney added: "We all – The Macallan, Mary and I – wanted to create a collection that celebrated the highest quality of materials and incredible craftsmanship that would be fitting of the shared values between us all.

“We envisaged pieces that were limited, yet would work together as a family. The idea was to have it live in your home, stand out, and of course be of the highest quality."

The Together collection will be exclusively sold as a complete set available to purchase for £10,000 from The Macallan Estate.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow is available to purchase at Harrods, Selfridges and The Whiskey Exchange The Whisky Exchange now for £160. The Macallan Harmony Collection Green Meadow will be available in The Macallan Airport Boutiques and key airports around the world from February 2024.
