Ron Milonario’s Reserva Especial Número 15 rum gets a redesign and flavour tweak to celebrate 20 years
One for the Rum Diary

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Peruvian Rum brand Ron Milonario has redesigned its Reserva Especial Número 15 bottle design. This switch-up completely changes the bottle's look while introducing the new 'Ready for Richness' slogan.
A lot is changing here compared to the bottle's previous design, according to The Spirits Business, which got the scoop. Ron Milonario has opted to ditch the full basket-like covering the bottle used to have, now opting for a clean glass design with a single label across the front, with nods to the brand’s heritage.
The new vessel also has a wooden stopper instead of the old screwtop it used to have — it feels like a less busy and classier design, now displaying the amber hues stored away inside. An appreciated move, for anyone who likes to see what they’re drinking.
It's not just the casing changing; slight changes also come to the recipe and barrel selection. So once you see this new bottle on the market, you'll know some minor tweaks have occurred to the recipe, hopefully we will find out what these are exactly closer to the time.
20 award-winning years

The rum, which is easily sourced here in the UK, has won numerous awards at the International Rum Festival, most notably a gold medal at The Spirits Business Awards.
It hails from Peru, a region not traditionally known for its rum — with the area better known for Brandy — and is made using sugar cane molasses. The flavour notes include butter, toffee, raisins, figs, dates, cola, molasses and dark sugar.
According to the official Ron Millonario page, it offers "A very pastry-like Spirit Drink, thick and coating, but which ultimately leaves the palate clean." There is still not much information on how the new recipe will change things or how this will impact the taste, but we can't wait to find out.
You can still purchase Reserva Especial Número 15 in the old bottle with the new, redesigned bottle set to land on 17th March, replacing the old version.
