Tom Ford gets a standalone London store to showcase those jewel-coloured tuxedo jackets. It opens in July on Sloane Street. Start saving.

2. Bag A Superior Holdall
Ever wished Céline did men’s bags? No? OK. Well, Bill Amberg’s new ‘Explorer’ bag collection is created by the same designer who worked for Phoebe Philo at the ‘It bag’ emporium. Our favourite is the two-tone Raleigh tote in blue suede, but the Everest 48hr in chestnut leather and taupe suede is fittingly mighty, too.

3. Motor to Belstaff’s New Store
Move over Burberry. Belstaff, the home of motorcycle jackets worn by A-listers such as Johnny Depp and Steve McQueen, is opening a giant store on Bond Street. Staking its flag in the luxury market, the new residence opens in September.

4. Try Channelling Orange
The future really is orange. From a complete tangerine arctic get-up at Topman Design to sophisticated over-dyed checks at E Tautz, this is your wardrobe’s underline colour this season.

5. Discover Dogstooth
This is the season’s new check. Seen at E Tautz, James Long and Paul Smith, it’s a pattern of broken squares or abstract four-pointed shapes, often in black and white. Play around with scale and go for large distorted examples. Alternatively, experiment with the season’s latest colourations such as cobalt or brick, or even stay more traditional with one of Paul Smith’s Sixties-style soft, double-breasted coats.

6. Learn From These Menswear Heroes (left to right)
Tommy Nutter : Just about every stylish new men’s line this side of Savile Row references the trailblazing Sixties tailor.
Lapo Elkann : The playboy Agnelli/Fiat heir. His style is so influential Gucci has commissioned him to co-create a capsule line.
Luke Evans : The actor has been seen wearing Brit designers like A Sauvage and Thom Sweeney – best ape him over Liberace, really.
Liberace : Seriously. Fur-lined capes, rhinestone tails and enough jewellery to embarrass Liz Taylor. OK, not so seriously, then.

Say ’allo ’allo to Gallic headwear, but think SAS rather than Frank Spencer. It was seen at Margaret Howell and YMC. Just don’t combine it with a striped T-shirt.

Why should Seventies rock stars, soap-opera barmaids and, um, actual leopards have all the fun with animal prints? Prove how comfortable you are with your masculinity via a pair of leopard print boots from Burberry Prorsum or wildly blue Topman shorts. Want to out-fashion the fashion pack? Opt for snow leopard.
