2014's Hardest-working Band Revealed

Now that the hardest-working man in showbusiness is sadly no longer with us, there's a vacant spot at the top of the leaderboard up for grabs.

And this year, it's filled by Manchester indie band The 1975, who have taken home Songkick's title of the Hardest-Working Band of 2014. The gig tracking website clocked up the miles traveled, and gigs played, over the last 12 months and the quartet won comfortably on both fronts. They follow 2013's winners Local Natives and Ed Sheeran, who triumphed in 2012.

The band chalked up 195 gigs in 29 countries, traveling 249,724km in the process - the equivalent of six laps of the Earth.

Jake Bugg was in second place on distance (226,789km), with Bastille third (194,640km). Meanwhile, Future Islands performed 159 shows and New Politics 153 to take the podium spots in terms of gigs played.
