It's been an odd year for the video games industry. Between the occasional indie success story and polished re-release, fans have had to get used to buying broken, unfinished games, immediately updating them with the increasingly common "launch patch".
But between the bugs and rushed releases there have been some moments worth stretching our thumbs for. From app delights to bold new franchises, we've not been left wanting. The 'next-gen' consoles have matured into 'current-gen' staples, brimming with titles finally worth splashing some cash on, while our phones and tablets have occupied our moments of boredom with a feast of addictive offerings.
As we struggled to find a way to summarise 2014's games, YouTuber Malcolm Klock has come to our aid with a neat two-minute summary of the year's major releases. Over 100 games have made it into his video montage (remakes and re-releases aside), reminding us of those many reasons why we were "too busy" to go out for a drink. Here's to an equally playable 2015.
