“In my job, I’m constantly surrounded by people with really cool style”
Spending his time capturing perfect style on camera, Ali has cultivated an eye for the looks that work – particularly the ones that channel his fail-safe favourite jeans.
“In my job, I’m constantly surrounded by people with really cool style,” says Ali.
“But in the mornings, I don’t have much time before a shoot. I’ll pull on an outfit which is practical but still looks good, so jeans are my go-to.
I tend to stick to my style year-round. I don’t start wearing shorts in summer – I’ll still wear jeans, but lighten the palette slightly when the weather picks up.

Bleached out and loose

Roll up the ankles and you’ve got a classic summer outfit that’s easy to pull together for when you’re hanging out with your mates. Team them with minimal, plain pieces but bring in colours and textures instead.”
Black and skinny fit
“Just because the weather is light and bright doesn’t mean you need to pack away black denim.
Teamed with a bold floral shirt, they’re perfect festival wear. These ones have got special four-way stretch technology which means you’ll stay comfortable whatever moves you’re pulling.
Slip on some Asics and you’re good to go.”
Dark blue and soft
“For something you can dress up more, these straight-leg, dark wash jeans are soft and versatile. Pair them with a boxy Breton stripe T-shirt in a larger size to your usual and desert boots, rolling the jean legs up to keep the look casual.
Or you could throw on a shirt instead for a sharper spin on smart casual.”
Off-white and not-so-tight
“The wrong shade of white and you end up looking like you should be on Love Island. A dream for some, but not for me.
These Ecru jeans are the perfect colour, though. They’re slightly off-white, which is easier to pull off if you want to be a bit bolder with your denim in summer.
As always, there’s a lot of athleisure about this year, so chuck on a grey sweater and some classic New Balance sneakers. Summer, nailed.”
