Back to School, 1975

Bon Scott sang Baby, Please Don't Go on national TV dressed as a schoolgirl. Tattooed and heavily made-up with blonde pigtails, he completed the look with an on-stage cigarette break.

Live at the Hippodrome, 1977

During a small concert in Golders Green, in front of a seated audience, Angus Young headbanged his way through the crowd to perform a three-minute guitar solo from a balcony edge.

Heatseeker, 1988

The Blow Up Your Video tour began each night with a heatseeking missile rising up on stage, out of which Angus Young jumped playing the opening riff to Heatseeker.

River Plate, 2009

Live DVDs can often be drab, but AC/DC's gig in front of more than 200,000 Argentinians screaming to Hells Bells - while Brian Johnson swings from a huge bell - certainly transcends the medium.

Donington Park, 2010

Not content with bringing their own stage (complete with three times as many speakers as the main stage, to which it was adjacent) to headline the Download Festival in 2010, the opening of the gig saw a train explode out of the stage. You just don't get that at a Belle & Sebastian gig.
