adidas collab with Shoe Surgeon on beautiful (but insanely expensive) pair of astroturfs
Here's what £543 will get you for your next kickabout
Limited to just 25 pairs, downtown Los Angeles designer Shoe Surgeon – not his real name; he's called Dominic Chambrone – will collaborate with adidas for super a special edition of his the Mundial Team astroturf to celebrate Paris Fashion Week.
Known for his mash-up footwear – typically switching up the soles on trainers or cutting up new materials to recreate a sneaker classic (such as his ponyhair Air Jordan 1 Shadow) – Chambrone’s take on the adidas Copa Rose Lux features an all-black leather upper, typically hardy footy laces, and a jet-black BOOST sole, all for a cool $695 (about £543).
Just the thought of shelling out on those for a kickabout in the park or a slightly-too-competitive game of fives against the adjacent office in your building, the kind where you end up with a bloody knee and a quiet word in your ear from HR, brings us out in hives. And not just because that BOOST sole probably doesn’t have the requisite tread grip for a 3G pitch.
But still, if you’ve got the dough, why the hell not?
Available in two locations at Paris Fashion Week – NDG Studios and Plan8 Studios – from 22 June.
