No animals were harmed in the making of adidas Originals' 84-Lab collection. Well okay, some animals. The cows who lent their hides to provide the premium suede leather probably didn't enjoy the process - but the point is this isn't that sort of lab. This is Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi's experiment to create the perfect contemporary trainer.
Working in collaboration with designer Mark McNairy and artist Ryan Gander, the latest 84-Lab line up (they've done three before) features a range of classic silhouettes - some instantly recognisable, others remarkably well disguised.
Stand-out pieces include the ZXZ ADV in Bold Gold and Night Navy, sporting a textured blend of smooth suede and nylon fabrics, and the MCN Monte Carlo Lo, with its Harris Tweed upper.
Set to appear on the adidas Originals site from 9 August, check out the rest of the collection below.
