On 8 November, 1989, the Berlin Wall was torn down - ending the physical division of a city and heralding the symbolic unification of a country. Twenty five years on, adidas will celebrate the historic event with a special release of a trainer also celebrating its 25th anniversary - the iconic ZX 8000.
Entitled "Fall of the Wall", the pack consists of three contrasting colourways named after three major military checkpoints that monitored traffic between the two halves of the city: Alpha, Bravo and Charlie.
The colours of the Alpha and Bravo models both look to draw inspiration on the graffitied sections of the wall, Alpha mixing up a black and grey hues while Bravo sports a livelier a salmon pink, yellow and blue colourway. Charlie is an altogether more mute, clean set of blacks and whites. Each of the models features a leather upper with leather overlays and an EVA midsole.
Set to arrive on adidas.co.uk on 8 November at £145, these are one of the nicer (or rather, only) historical tribute trainers we've come across.
