It's already the most expensive, most preordered video game in history. In its two week live beta test, some 4.6 million players notched up 88 million completed missions. When Destiny launches itself upon consoles tomorrow, we're sure the records are going to keep tumbling.
Following in the considerable footsteps of Halo: Combat Evolved, the pressure was always on Bungie to deliver something special. Halo arguably helped cement the legacy of the Xbox brand, and their decision to leave Microsoft's stable in 2007 was something of a head-scratcher. Having invested many, many hours in Destiny's beta, we can add our words of approval to the multitude of positive reviews circling the web: Destiny is going to be glorious.
