After breaking out in Donnie Darko and attracting the attention of the Academy in Brokeback Mountain, it appeared as if Jake Gyllenhaal would have his place in the A-List guaranteed for the foreseeable future. But things weren't so simple. A failed attempt at blockbuster stardom in Prince of Persia and a lead in forgettable Oscar bait Rendition showed that Hollywood just didn't know what to do with him.
But last year saw him bounce back with a sterling turn in the grisly thriller Prisoners and dual performances in creepy indie Enemy and he's continuing down that dark, dank rabbit hole with his role in murky new thriller Nightcrawler. In it, he stars as an unhinged wannabe cameraman who slowly loses his sanity as he desperately tries to capture the criminal underbelly of LA on film.
To celebrate the release, we asked some of our favourite artists to design alternative posters and the results are really quite something.
