There comes a time in every man's life when he has to acknowledge that posters of video games just aren't acceptable on the walls of a 30-something's bedroom. Mercifully, a far classier alternative does exist.
This intricate video game art is the work of Luxembourg-based Alain 'Wuppes' Wildgen, a master of paper dioramas.
In an effort to pay homage to his favourite childhood game Super Mario Bros., Wuppes took up paper, foam and a scalpel. Twenty to 30 hours later, he had created 3D miniature scene of the game's iconic first level and discovered a superb new hobby.
Wuppes has since created dioramas for 18 retro titles, including Metal Slug, Street Fighter 2, Super Metroid and Golden Axe. While his sets aren't available to buy, Wuppes does include full details of how to build your own sets on his Facebook page.
We've picked out some of our favourites - head to his site to see all his work.
