Any self-respecting music fan will surely have lamented the absence of any Outkast music since the last album in 2006.
With the duo still unsure over whether they'll ever record together again, you'd be forgiven for wondering what the hell they're doing instead.
Well it looks like at least one of them will be able to pay the bills this year. André 3000 has just been cast as Jimi Hendrix in a new biopic, tentatively titled All Is By My Side, which will cover the iconic singer's life from 1966 to 1967.
Hendrix was discovered in 1966 and had recorded his first album by 1967. Despite being set in New York, the film will actually be shot in Ireland.
Since Hendrix's estate is notoriously particular when allowing his music to be used, it's unsure whether the film will boast any of his songs.
What do you think? Is André 3000 a good choice?
