Over four million people have signed this global open letter to Trump
"The world rejects your fear, hate-mongering, and bigotry"
Last night thousands of people around the UK took to the streets, including 10 Downing Street to disturb Theresa while she’s watching Eastenders, in an effort to protest against Trump’s ban on Muslims entering America.
Yesterday we also brought the news to you of a study that showed how Trump used Facebook to win the election, and it looks like his opponents (which there is a hell of a lot of) are also taking to the web in hope of victory against fascism.
So if you couldn’t make it to your local anti-Trump protest to show off your best pun-based placard, you can now be against the controversial POTUS/spawn of Satan by signing an online letter constructed by Avaaz.com, a campaigning community bringing people-powered politics to decision making worldwide.
At the time of publishing the letter has been signed by 4,052,563 people and has a goal of 4,500,000, with a new signature coming in almost every second which you can watch in real time.
Here’s what it says...
Dear Mr. Trump,
This is not what greatness looks like.
The world rejects your fear, hate-mongering, and bigotry. We reject your support for torture, your calls for murdering civilians, and your general encouragement of violence. We reject your denigration of women, Muslims, Mexicans, and millions of others who don’t look like you, talk like you, or pray to the same god as you.
Facing your fear we choose compassion. Hearing your despair we choose hope. Seeing your ignorance we choose understanding.
As citizens of the world, we stand united against your brand of division.
Sincerely,
