An even bigger hint to the proximity of the cold months ahead has arrived in the shape of ASICS new collection: the autumnal "Workwear" pack.
Featuring a Gel Lyte III, Gel Lyte V and GT-II, each of these seasoned models has been reworked with a layer of perforated suede and embossed leather, with rugged metal eyelets and laces borrowed from a boot. It's a toughened look, contrasting with a summer of lightweight woven fabrics and classic revivals.

A hardy set of skins aside, you'd be mad to take these beauties anywhere near a building site.
Set to launch on 18 September, you'll be able to pick up the Gel Lyte III for £99, the Gel Lyte V for £109 and the GT-II for £85 from retailers including Hanon.
