Hell hath no fury like a post-apocalyptic Tom Hardy scorned.
Or at least that’s going on the latest trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, where we now see that the actor - who we saw mounted on the front of a car like a human Rolls Royce badge - does indeed spend much of the film captive. His tormentors haven’t got any better looking either.
We get much more footage of the baddies this time around, along with a closer look at the skull-masked chieftain who seems to be hunting down Charlie Theron’s deserter with his army of goons - and those desert chases look spectacular.
Because if you believed the slap-headed villains were creepy, just look at the huge array of snarling vehicles, used outrageously. George Miller’s reboot seems to follow the original in choosing proper stunts over all green-screen CGI and it could just be one of the best action films of the last decade.
In fact it looks so powerful, we daren't type ‘Fury Road’ into Google Maps in case our screen fills with sand.
Mad Max Fury Road is out in cinemas from 15 May
