This truly bizarre attraction has topped the TripAdvisor ratings - and the reviews are hilarious
This is THE place to be in the UK right now
The British Museum… Stonehenge… The Tower of London… These are just some of the attractions you should not be visiting in 2019.
Nope, next year there’s only one hot spot that culture vultures in the know are buzzing about: the Bude Tunnel.
That’s right, a plastic tunnel attached to the side of a supermarket has bizarrely shot to the top of the TripAdvisor ratings in the Cornish seaside resort.
The 70m structure in Bude has attracted more than 100 glowing reviews, which are all pretty hilarious.
The TripAdvisor page says this about the breathtaking attraction:
“The only tunnel Bude has to offer is open to the public free of charge, walk from the Sainsbury’s car park to Crooklets Road completely undercover, protected from the elements whilst maintaining your view to the spectacular surroundings of Bude.
“Consisting of 36 metal arches and over 70m long, nowhere else in Bude can you walk this far undercover in a continuous straight line, all ages are welcome.”
Did they just say a continuous straight line?! Jeepers! I’m on my way.
Shaun P gave the tunnel five stars and tried to book a place for Christmas dinner there.
“Am hoping to book this for Xmas dinner after my last visit, only thing I’m not sure of is dress code and times,” he wrote.
Joshua K called it “one of the seven wonders” of the world and a “modern Taj Mahal.”
In a more brutally honest post, Anne said: “Great place for a divorce.
“Took my ex-husband (husband at the time) to the tunnel to break things off and inform him about the divorce.
“Bye Steven. The walk back through the elongated trouble (sic) felt like the first step towards freedom from Steven and his massive collection of recorders.
“Best moment of my life.”
And while some of these posts are obviously trolling, plenty of people actually visit and love the famous Bude Tunnel.
Just look at these happy folks enjoying their local hot spot:
See you down there, I’ll bring the Pringles.
