The world lost an iconic creative force last night with the announcement that Stan Lee – inventor of Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man and Doctor Strange – had passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 95.
Alongside collaborators Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee dreamed up the now-iconic Marvel universe and the Avengers – and his creations still dominate the modern movie business.
