The marriage of design and football is a rocky one. Football boots continue to arrive in violent shades of chemical spill colours, while kits are an unpredictable case of hit and miss (but mostly miss). Never has this troubled relationship blossomed more than in these minimal football badge designs.
These minimalist marvels are the creation of 24-year-old Amer Amin, the man behind Palestinian design studio Manara (nothing to do with Milo). The 'Minimal Football' series transforms well known (and some less well known) football badges into beautifully simplistic tributes. An eclectic range of Amin's favourite club designs have received the treatment, from Egypt's Al Ahly SC to Scotland's Aberdeen F.C. You can see the full range here.
Our personal favourite is the stylised badge of SV Werder Bremen, simply as it could double as the emblem of Dentists United.
