They still don't lace themselves automatically. But in all other aspects, these Back To The Future II trainers are fantastic.
While they're not made by Nike, they are officially licensed by Universal Studios and so are accurate in virtually all other respects - and, most importantly, they're extremely affordable.
The trainers have been made by Halloween Costumes and include light up soles, a USB connector for charging and a collector's box. They're $100, which is substantially less than you'd need to pay (ie. you don't need to sell your grandmother) on eBay for Nike's 2011 limited-edition Air Mags.
The automatic lacing was originally promised for 2015 - and Nike’s Tinker Hatfield has claimed that it will happen - perhaps they're getting there one light-up step at a time.
