Barb returns to Stranger Things in this excellent Jimmy Fallon sketch
She's back and she's mightily p*ssed
Spoiler alert: if you're still yet to inhale the synth-laden first season of Stranger Things on Netflix, look away now.
Still with us? Good.
One of the biggest injustices felt by fans following the first series of the Netflix phenomenon was the fate of Barb – you know, the bookish, bespectacled teenage BFF of Nancy - left for dead in the upside down dimension without so much as a search party. Compared to the gravitas which met Will’s Byer’s disappearance, the disappearance of old Barb barely registered.
Subsequently, we’ve been left to ponder just what happened to this flame-haired throwback (fact for you: this was actress Shannon Purser’s first acting role) and how exactly she met her grizzly demise, starting of course with that scene of her being dragged to the bowels of a barren swimming pool. Well now she’s back, and she’s pissed.
On Jimmy Fallon’s US talk show, the host just invited the young cast to reprise their roles for a brilliant new skit that sees douchebag Steve (played by Fallon) storm into the basement, where the youngsters are playing Dungeons and Dragons, to alert them of their abject hypocrisy.
To paraphrase Eminem, they forgot about Barb.
