Travelling to work without it would leave you feeling empty inside, it’s the first thing you pack into the suitcase when you’re jetting away, it’s the one thing you simply cannot live without; These are the gadgets that are at the top of their game and everybody wants them. The T3 Gadget Awards 2011 is paying homage to those most coveted pieces of tech, but we want you to pick which one should be the outright winner.

iPad 2
Tempting first generation iPad owners into an early upgrade, the iPad 2 is thinner, sleeker and has quite frankly a mind-blowing design. The under-the-hood improvements make it even better for gaming and thankfully Apple listened up to the fanboys and added front- and rear-facing cameras.

Motorola Atrix
Dubbed the ‘most powerful smartphone on the planet’ the Atrix is lighter than the iPhone 4 and sports a high quality 4-inch touchscreen. The beauty however, is in the ability to hook up the handset to a multimedia dock and a Lapdock to turn the Atrix into a fully operational laptop. This could be the blueprint for all handsets in the future.

Amazon Kindle 3
Spearheading the e-reader revolution, the latest Kindle is Amazon’s best yet. It’s 21 per cent lighter than its predecessor, page turns are 20 per cent faster and the contrast is 50 per cent improved, making the e-ink even more comfortable to read. Couple that with a huge range of books, magazines and newspapers and it’s the perfect commuting companion.

Sky HD
Serving up more HD sport, film and documentaries than ever, the pay TV provider has now launched its long-awaited 3D channel and bestowed Premier League football, Ryder Cup Golf, Boxing and more in eye-popping vision. Special mention should also go to the welcome addition of Sky Atlantic HD which serves up the best drama series from the US.

Nintendo 3DS
The first console to deliver 3D visuals without the need for glasses, the 3DS offers new control options – motion sensing and an analogue pad for a start – augmented reality games, greatly improved graphics and an innovative new way to communicate with fellow 3DS gamers. With 3D content also on the way from the likes of Sky and Eurosport, this is only the beginning for the Nintendo 3DS.

Virgin Media Tivo
The Virgin Media powered by TiVo box is a massive shot in the arm to Virgin’s home cable service and has the potential to change the way we watch TV. It comes loaded with catch-up TV services like iPlayer and 4OD and boasts access to Virgin Media’s impressive array of on-demand movies and TV shows. This is a set-top box so good, it could actually beat out Sky HD to become the king of the UK subscription TV market.

Microsoft Xbox Kinect
Changing the way we interact with our games consoles forever, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 add-on entered the Guinness Book of World Records earlier this year as the fastest selling consumer tech device ever. The controller-less device has brought the entire family back to gaming, even more so than the Wii, and with Star Wars and a Michael Jackson Experience dance game headlining 2011’s games line-up, it appears Kinect is just getting started.

HTC Incredible S
Having already wowed our friends stateside, HTC’s current Android front-runner arrives in the UK with a brilliant 480x800 Super LCD screen, a 1GHz processor, and 8-megapixel rear-facing and 1.3-megapixel front facing cameras. The look and build are of HTC’s usual high standards, and with HTC’s excellent Sense UI its goes some way to living up to its Incredible billing.
