Blade Runner sequel finally gets a trailer
It's dark, brooding and has Ryan Gosling in it - what more could you want?
It’s here. What you’ve all been waiting for. No, not the last day in the office before you break up for a hazy Christmas pub session, we’re on about an official teaser trailer for the long-awaited sequel to Blade Runner, one of the most celebrated sci-fi films of all time.
Titled Blade Runner 2049, the newly released trailer features a disheveled-looking Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard (or is that just how he looks now?) pointing a gun at the sequel’s latest acting talent Ryan Gosling, who stars as an LAPD officer named K, as in the text reply you get from a disgruntled girlfriend.
It’s directed by Denis Villeneuve (the mind behind this years smash sci-fi hit Arrival) and executive produced by Ridley Scott (who created the first Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator and everything else you like), with the movie’s focus being on Gosling’s character, who “unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos”. It’s set 30 years after the events of the original movie.
The iconic cyberpunk flick will also star Suicide Squad’s Jared Leto and wrestling star Dave Bautista from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Blade Runner 2049 will be released 6 October, 2017
