Between the likes of Hector and Tuco Salamanca, Lawson and Mike (and of course Jimmy), we’re pretty spoiled for Breaking Bad characters in the spin-off Better Call Saul.
But we’ll be damned if that’s enough. Bryan Cranston’s reprisal of Walter White on SNL whet our appetite and now Gus Fring is satisfying it with a wholesome restaurant ad for Los Pollos Hermanos.
The clip was released as a teaser for season three of Better Call Saul and follows the standard American cheesy chain formula – wholesome family eager to tuck in, staff smiling (but with pleading eyes) and jolly manager pretending to be your buddy.
Enter Fring who promises that if you don’t like Los Pollos Hermanos’ new curly fries, they’re on him. Which is at least one reminder of what a maniac he is, because everyone loves curly fries.
The whole thing is seasoned with the mental reminder that Fring is as well versed in frying chicken as he is in crystal meth. So naturally, everyone can’t wait for his return, including Giancarlo Esposito who plays him.
The actor confirmed his appearance in the new season with a tweet:
A rep for the show confirmed Fring's return in a statement too:
"Gus Fring will appear in season three of Better Call Saul."
Though the character left Breaking Bad with a bang, we have a feeling it will be just as exciting to see how he enters it.
Fans have been speculating for a while about his return, with some literal genius putting together the first letters of the episodes from season two of Better Call Saul and finding that they spell FRINGSBACK:
The show hasn’t announced a premiere date for the 10-episode season, but it’s set to air sometime this year (we reckon February so keep your eyes peeled).
