They're not quite Marty McFly self-tying laces, but they're close.
Zubits are a brilliant invention that make tying shoeslaces a cumbersome thing of the past. You simply put your existing shoelaces into each half, and then the two magnetic pieces join together to tie the shoe quickly, and easily. If this wasn't enough, having a magnetic component (and a strong one, at that) to your shoe means that, suddenly, your storage options are vastly widened - simply stick your shoes to the fridge to remind you to do that run in the morning.
The brainchild of California-based entrepeneur Ryan Wiens, they've been launched on Kickstarter and have already smashed their target, netting $74,000 (£46,000) of a $29,000 (£18,000) goal with 30 days still to run. Prices start at $17 (£10.60) for a single set rising to $170 for ten (£106).
Watch the video below to get more of an idea of how they work: it's simple and brilliant. Get this man on the self-tying shoelace project immediately.
