James Corden's Carpool Karaoke might be getting its own spin-off show
The viral smash might be getting the full silver screen treatment very soon...
James Corden’s massively successful Carpool Karaoke, the segment of his The Late, Late Show that lures celebrities into his car for a bit of a chinwag and a sing-song, might be sold as its own show soon.
If you’ve ever seen one of the immensely popular clips before, you’ll know that it previously featured the likes of One Direction, Adele and Justin Bieber (three times).
Think Jimmy Fallon’s Lip Sync Battle, also massively successful, that was turned into its own show on Spike.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Corden and Ben Winston, his executive producer, are trying to sell the idea to TV networks with a version of the segment. He’ll have to act quick though, as Spike already has a version of the show ready to premiere soon named Caraoke Showdown, hosted by Craig Robinson.
It’s not likely that there’ll be room for two versions of what is essentially the same show, with various people both singing in cars.
It’s also not likely that Corden would host this version of the show either, with his work expected to be behind-the-scenes from an Executive Producer position.
The fact that the show is being offered up for purchase is no surprise, the segment has gone viral in every sense, having garnered some 412 million YouTube views, 84 million of which were just for Adele.
