Ok, we’re just going to come out with it. It’s been gnawing away at our soul for months now: we wish we could live in the two-dimensional (ok, sometimes three dimensional) cartoon world.
There, that feels better. Oh, how we envy their simple existence; lives in which the bad guys (yes, Wile E. Coyote we’re talking about you) always get their comeuppance and the likes of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin can bag themselves loving wives.
Well, if the above set of images is anything to go by, it would appear that the envious glances and the idea that the grass is greener on the other side run both ways. How else to explain Marvin the Martian hanging out with Neil Armstrong on the moon and Asterix’s buddy Obelix playing a round of golf with someone who looks uncannily like Jose Maria Olazabal?
Our favourite, mind, is Homer Soprano, a man who really understands the dark underbelly of American life and we wager could get to grips with the ‘waste management’ business.
