Bang & Olufesn. Bowers & Wilkins. If you're going to make luxury headphones, it would appear you need an ampersand in your name. In addition to this all important conjunction, new-comer Master & Dynamic would appear to have the required design flare.
Having made its first appearance in the noisy audio market earlier this year with the MH40, the New York-based audiophile now has a range of four headphone models - or rather, "sound tools for creative minds".
With its cow hide headband, stainless steel rods and aluminium cans, the £240 MH40 wouldn't look out of place on the desk of a submarine's listening post.
The smaller drivers (40mm in place of the MH40's 45mm) on the MH30 headphones make these the brand's portable over-ear option - with lambskin ear pads and a tangle-free woven cable. Unfortunately, they're currently out of stock.
For those who hate having anything over their ears, the ME01 and ME03 in-ear options both sport similar levels of detail to their lager brothers, with aluminium bodies and silicon tips.
Yet to receive a UK launch, we'll let you know when these luxury cans make the trip across the Atlantic. If you don't mind paying postage, you can order a set from the US site here.
