10 Cloverfield Lane emerged from pretty much nowhere back in 2016, and the Cloverfield gang have played the ‘SURPRISE!’ card again, only this time even more spectacularly.
After much recent hype and discussion about what the third Cloverfield film would actually be like, and when it would be getting a release - and what type of release it would be - they’ve ‘done a Beyonce’ and released the film with no warning, straight to Netflix, with no advance adverts, trailer or press.
It’s called The Cloverfield Paradox and has been in development ever since 2012, initially being named God Particle and, like 10 Cloverfield Lane, originally being written with no connection to the original Cloverfield film, which was released back in 2008.
A trailer for Paradox was aired during the Super Bowl, with the full, finished film, landing on Netflix within two hours.

The film is a science fiction horror film and has been directed by Julius Onah, written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung, and produced by J. J. Abrams’s Bad Robot Productions - click here to get watching on Netflix.
It stars Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debicki, Aksel Hennie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, John Ortiz, David Oyelowo, and Zhang Ziyi and, inevitably, reviews are already starting to filter in - the bad news is they’re not looking too good.
