After news broke over the weekend that the CBS adaptation of Stephen King's 2009 bestseller Under The Dome would premiere on June 24th, we now have our first piece of casting news.
Colin Ford, a 16-year-old actor previously seen in Cameron Crowe's We Bought A Zoo, has signed on to play Joe, a quick-witted teen living in Chester's Mill, the town at the centre of the mayhem.
For those who haven't read the novel, it tells the tale of a New England town which finds itself sealed off from the rest of the world, by way of a, yep you guessed it, massive dome. Panic takes over and bad things happen.
Ford's character is separated from his parents by the dome and, along with his fellow townsfolk, must try to discover what is really going on.
The first episode of the show will be directed by Niels Arden, best known for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo while the script comes from Lost writer Brian K Vaughan.
As well as starring as Matt Damon's son in We Bought A Zoo, Ford has also starred in Supernatural and Revolution.
What do you think? Good casting?
Under The Dome begins in the US on June 24th at 10pm on CBS with no UK date confirmed
